We collect data to organise music & arts education services this includes personal and financial information when necessary and during purchasing.
The following information informs you about what we do with your information for example data processing.
How we use your personal information
In order to provide Music Education Services , the CMS has to process certain information from you. The processing of your information includes the collection, use, sharing (if appropriate), retention and destruction of your information.
The information we collect includes: your name, DOB, address, contact number, email address, school, lessons, examinations and instrument information, gender, ethnicity, family details, SEND status, people premium status and LAC status. As well as financial info if we add payment portal receipts.
Your data will be used to:
- Form Registers
- Record Sign ups
- Contact
- Understand if students qualify for discounts or free services
- Record Exams

The CMS must have a lawful reason to process your information. We will process your application as follows according to government legislation:

Protecting your personal information
The CMS endeavour to ensure that the services we provide comply with all data protection legislation, for example, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
The CMS has appropriate security and controls in place to prevent data loss, for example, hacking attempts, however, we cannot guarantee that the personal information you submit will not be intercepted.
Sharing your personal information
There are instances when we will share your information, with e.g. Service Providers. We may share, with consent, details with partner organisations, the data will be visible internally to staff and selectively to teachers.
The CMS seeks to disclose sensitive personal data about you, (such as medical details) to third parties, we will do so only with your prior express consent or where we are legally required or allowed to do. In certain circumstances, the Council may share your information with third parties, for example, where we are legally required to do so, for the prevention/detection of crime/fraud, or where we are concerned about your, or someone else’s, wellbeing.
Retaining your personal information
The Council will only keep your information for as long as is necessary, for the minimum amount of time, for the purpose it was collected, and in line with statutory and/or business requirements.
